Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most anticipated games of 2023, yet it will not include one of the Harry Potter universe’s mainstays. Hogwarts Legacy seeks to provide players with a Hogwarts experience that they would otherwise be unable to have. Many children were drawn to the wizarding world by the Harry Potter novels and films, which depicted a place where they might spend a year with their pals, learn wonderful magic, go on crazy adventures, eat large feasts, and much more. There was even a thrilling imaginary game known as Quidditch, which has become an iconic part of that realm.
Many people were anticipating that with the introduction of Hogwarts Legacy, they’d be able to play Quidditch, but that won’t be the case. The game’s developer revealed that Quidditch will not be included, but players will be able to navigate the globe using a broomstick. However, it appears that there were once intentions to add the game in Hogwarts Legacy. According to a recent leak documented by YouTuber JorRaptor, players were supposed to have Quidditch gear that they could equip on their character, but it has likely been eliminated. While this may simply be a piece of clothing for the player, it was believed that it would be a part of the real mini-game. The mode was planned in 2017 with four alternative positions for players to choose in Quidditch matches, but it was removed from the game after a year.
Unfortunately, this is the how game production works. Quidditch would most certainly be completely optional and, aside from the flying mechanics, would require the team to create a slew of new systems to handle it correctly, which would divert attention away from more important aspects of the game. It’s possible that the developer will address this in DLC, but that remains to be seen.
Hogwarts Legacy will be available on February 10th for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Do you want Quidditch to return as DLC? Let me know in the comment section down below
